McMinnville Fire District Application Required
These positions perform emergency medical services in response to calls and cleans and maintains equipment and facilities. Single Role Paramedics work a schedule with a fixed number of hours during the week. As of August 1, 2025, that schedule is 40 hours per week, Tuesdays through Fridays. The District may change this schedule to meet operational needs.

Works under the general supervision of a shift supervisor.
Supervision is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel on department policies and practices.

1. Responds to emergency medical calls requiring a thorough understanding of emergency medical services. Operates equipment to provide rescue and emergency medical services following all protocols based on EMS certification as established for each situation.
2. Responds to fire and other emergency calls which may include rescuing individuals from buildings or other hazardous situations.
3. Checks and maintains fire and EMS department apparatus, equipment and facilities, including routine housekeeping and maintenance duties.
4. Trains and drills on fire, rescue, and emergency medical related subjects, techniques, and procedures.
5. Follows all safety rules and procedures established for work areas.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Maintains records, logs, and reports.
2. Maintains proficiency and certifications by attending training conferences and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility.
3. Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, kneel, sit, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools, or controls. The position requires mobility and the ability to operate EMS equipment. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and will require moving adult individuals, and equipment, which will weigh over 100 pounds more than once per day. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as motor vehicles, and emergency medical equipment, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Most work occurs under usual fire station/indoor working conditions. Approximately 40% of the work period is at medical/fire/rescue sites or training with exposure to fire, smoke, and typical hazards and noise levels associated with medical/fire/rescue service. The noise level in the fire station is higher than typical of most office environments; however does not require hearing protection. The current schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. This may change based on operational needs of the District.
